As the partial government shutdown stretches on, more and more organizations are stepping up to help federal workers and contractors who are now furloughed or working without pay.
This week, the Amalgamated Transit Union announced it will serve free meals to impacted workers and their families.
“We believe in helping workers. And we believe in helping the community. So it was decided that we would serve food to the workers and their families the remainder of the week,” said Oscar Owens with ATU.
